There was not enough wine for all of them. 很久很久以前，有一群人得到一 壶酒。酒不够分给所有人。 Someone said, “Let’s draw snakes on the ground. The first one to finish drawing can drink the wine.” 有人提议：“我们在地上画蛇，谁 先画好，谁就能喝这壶酒。” Soon, one man finished his snake. He looked around. Others were still drawing. 很快，有一个人先画完了蛇。他 环顾四周，其他人还在画。 He thought, “I have time. I can add feet to my snake.” 他心想：我还有时间，可以给蛇 添上脚。 Just then, another man finished. He took the wine and said, “Snakes don’t have feet! You added feet, so yours is not a snake.” 就在这时，另一个人画好了蛇。 他拿起酒壶说：“蛇本来没有脚！ 你给它添上脚，画的就不是蛇了。” Then he drank the wine. 说完，他喝下了酒。 I love this story. It tells us, don’t do extra things. Sometimes more work may make things worse. 我喜欢这个故事。它告诉我们， 不要多做多余的事。有时候画蛇 添足，反而会把事情搞砸。 When we study, we should keep things simple and right.
