Good evening, today, I want to share with you something about the study Buddhism and practice. 

晚上好，今天，我想与你们分享关于学习佛陀教导和修行。

We should study Buddhism seriously and wholeheartedly, without wasting our precious time. By studying the Buddha’s sacred teachings, we should come to understand the path we need to follow in this life and in our future lives.

我们应该庄重并全心投入地学习佛陀教导，不浪费我们的宝贵时间。通过学习佛陀庄严的教导，我们应该去理解我们需要在此生和我们的未来生中跟随的道路。

The purpose of studying Buddhism is to help us discover the path to our own happiness. If our studies do not help us understand this path, then we have missed the main purpose of learning Buddhism.

学习佛陀教导的目的是帮助我们发现通往我们自己幸福的道路。如果我们的学习不能帮助我们理解这条道路，那么我们已经错失了学习佛陀教导的主要目的。

In that case, we may not even know what the actual Dharma we should put into practice is. If we lose sight of the essence of the Buddha’s teachings, then even if we write many beautiful and impressive books, our efforts will not bring us any real benefit.

在那种情况下，我们也许都不知道真正的法是什么，那我们应该放入练习中的法。如果我们失去了能看到佛教实质的视野，那么即使我们写很多漂亮且给人印象深刻的书，我们的努力也不会带给我们任何现实的利好。

That is why we should cultivate a good heart, try to benefit others, show respect to others, be honest and, remain humble. Developing these qualities will benefit us both in this life and in our future lives.

这说明了为何我们应该培育一颗良善的心，尝试去利益他人，对他们展现尊敬，诚实，并且保持谦逊。发展这些品质将在此生利益我们，并将在我们的未来生利益我们。

A good heart, a genuine wish to help others, loving-kindness, and compassion can only truly develop when we have an honest and sincere mind. If we are not honest and straightforward within ourselves, these wonderful qualities that benefit both ourselves and others will not naturally arise in us.

一颗良善的心、一份真正帮助他人的愿望、带着友爱的善意和对他人之苦的体察，只能在我们拥有诚实和直率的心境时真正发展。如果，在我们内里，我们不是诚实直率的，那么，这些利益我们自己和他人的美妙品质将不会自然地在我们的内里升起。

So, first of all, we need to examine ourselves regularly and ask, “What faults do I have? What do I need to improve?” We need to look carefully at our own minds and see whether we are truly honest and free from deception, dishonesty, and trickery.

因此，首先，我们需要定期地检验我们自己并且问“我有什么样的错误？我需要什么来提升？” 我们需要仔细地看着我们自己的心境，并且看看我们是不是真的诚实，不受欺骗的影响，不受不诚实行为的影响，不受耍滑头的影响。

Without this kind of honesty and sincerity, it is difficult to develop other good qualities and the ability to benefit others.

没有这种诚实和直率的行为，发展其他好的品质是困难的，发展帮助他人的能力是困难的。

That is why the Buddha's teachings emphasize the importance of listening to and reflecting on the sacred Dharma and using it to make our minds pure, peaceful, calm, gentle, and well-disciplined. Our great spiritual teachers also repeatedly give us the same advice and guidance.

这说明了为什么佛陀教导强调听到庄严教导并沉思庄严教导，且运用它以使得我们的心纯净、安静、平静、温和、具备良好的素养。

So, today, I just wanted to remind all of you of these important points.
