Today, I want to talk about something that sounds easy but is actually quite hard — being yourself, openly and proudly.

Many of us have had this moment: you want to raise your hand, but you are afraid of giving a wrong answer. You want to sing, but you worry that someone will laugh. You want to wear the color you like, but you check what everyone else is wearing first. Slowly, we learn to hide ourselves — and we become very good at pretending.

我们很多人都有过这样的时刻：你想举手，却怕答错；你想唱歌，却怕被人笑；你想穿喜欢的颜色，却先看看别人穿了什么。慢慢地，我们学会了把自己藏起来，也越来越擅长"假装"。

But here is the truth: you were not born to fit into someone else's shape. You are not a copy — you are an original. Your voice, your ideas, your way of laughing and thinking — no one in the world can do them exactly the way you do.

但事实是：你生来不是为了塞进别人的模子里。你不是复制品，你是原版。你的声音、你的想法、你笑的样子、你思考的方式——这世上没有人能和你一模一样。

Being yourself does not mean you never listen to others. It means you do not use other people's opinions as a mirror to judge yourself. You can learn from everyone and still stay who you are. That is real confidence.

做自己，不是不听别人的话，而是不把别人的评价当成衡量自己的镜子。你可以向所有人学习，同时依然是你自己。这才是真正的自信。

So how can we be more open and comfortable with ourselves? Here are three small things you can try today.

那么，怎样才能更坦然地做自己呢？今天就可以试试这三件小事。

1.Accept your differences: The things that make you "different" may be the things that make you special. Don't shrink yourself just to make others comfortable.

2.Say what you really think: You don't have to agree with everyone. Speaking your own opinion politely is a skill — and it gets easier every time you try.

3.Cheer for others without dimming your own light: Liking yourself and admiring others can happen at the same time. This world is big enough for everyone to shine.

In the end, being yourself is not about being perfect. It is about being honest — honest about what you like, what you believe, and who you are. When you stand up straight and speak in your own voice, you are already beautiful.
