Class begins. Good morning, class! Sit down please. Today we are going to learn Unit 3. Please read the title after me. Smart Learning.

Look at this picture. What can you see?

Today we will talk about different study ways. 

How do you usually study? What are your learning tips?

Step2 1a Vocabulary & Speaking (515 mins)

Open your books, turn to activity 1a. Look at these learning tips on your textbook. Please tick the ways you use in your study. You can also write one more way. You have 3 minutes. Go ahead.

Time’s up. Let’s read these phrases together: take notes, use flashcards, create mind maps, work in groups, watch learning videos, use learning apps… Ready, go. 

Now look at the sentence pattern: I study by doing sth.

For example, I study by taking notes. Read after me.I study by taking notes. 

Great. Now practice with your deskmate. Talk about how you study English, history or other subjects. You have 2 minutes.

Step3 Prelistening & Whilelistening 1b1c (1530 mins)

Boys and girls, now we will do listening work. 

Look at 1b. We have three conversations and three pictures ABC. Before listening, look at the three pictures carefully. 

First listening: Listen to the conversations, match each conversation with the right picture. You can write letters A/B/C. 

Let’s check answers together. 

Now look at activity 1c. Listen again, and complete these six sentences. Remember to write key words.

1.Teng Fei says the best way to study maths is to do maths problems.

2.The learning app will find your weak points and gives exercises to work on them.

Now work in pairs. Talk about how you study for different school subjects. Use the sentences we just learned. You have 3 minutes. I will walk around to help you.
