We are proud to share the achievements of our students at the Copernicus Olympiad Global Finals held in Houston, USA. Our Grade 8 student, Claire L., and Grade 9 student Jason Z. took to the international stage to compete against the world’s brightest young minds in the field of Natural Sciences. After being selected in the first round, these two exceptional students earned their tickets to the Global Finals.

Claire earned a gold medal, and Jason won a silver medal, reflecting their dedication, curiosity, and hard work. Their success is a testament to both their talent and the supportive, inspiring learning environment at ISD.

The Copernicus Olympiad is an international competition that challenges young scientists to apply their knowledge in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and astronomy. For the Natural Sciences category, the final round typically involves solving challenging, higher‑level questions that test deep conceptual understanding and the application of scientific principles learned throughout earlier stages of the competition.

For Claire and Jason, the Houston trip was about far more than the final tally. The competition served as a bridge, connecting them with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds. Through interactions, they sparked new ideas and grew through collaborative learning. Whether discussing theories or sharing cultural stories, they discovered that, despite their differing backgrounds, their drive to explore is exactly the same.

A special thank you to PSA Co-Chair Ms. Angel Su, who stood firmly by our students' side throughout this journey to Houston. With her constant presence and encouragement, our students Claire and Jason take the world stage with confidence, proudly representing ISD. We are deeply grateful for her dedicated support every step of the way.

从大洋彼岸的美国休斯顿传来捷报：在哥白尼奥林匹克竞赛自然科学领域全球总决赛中，ISD八年级学生Claire L.和九年级学生Jason Z.同学代表学校站上了国际赛场。在此之前，两人已通过首轮选拔，获得全球轮的参赛资格，远赴休斯顿与全球顶尖选手同场竞技。

最终，Claire同学摘得全球金奖，Jason同学夺得全球银奖。这份荣耀充分展现了他们对科学的专注、好奇心以及持之以恒的努力，也充分体现了ISD 极具启发性且充满支持的学术氛围。

哥白尼奥林匹克竞赛这是一项顶尖的国际性赛事，旨在挑战年轻科学家在数学、物理、化学、生物及天文学领域的知识应用能力。自然科学组别的决赛通常以极具挑战性的高难度试题著称，重点考察学生对科学原理的深度理解以及对前期比赛中所学知识的综合应用能力。

对两名学子而言，休斯顿之行的意义远不止于竞赛和奖牌。赛场，是竞技场，更是连接世界的桥梁。他们与来自全球各地、怀揣同样科学梦想的同龄人并肩探索。这种跨越地域的交流与思想碰撞，让他们深刻领悟到：科学是一门通用的语言，它能跨越地域，链接起每一颗渴望探索的心。

我们要特别感谢家委会联合主席Ms. Angel Su。从启程到抵达，从国内到休斯顿，万里之遥，Ms. Angel Su始终守护在侧。她一路上的悉心陪伴与鼓励，让学子代表学校站上世界舞台的那一刻，更加坚定与从容。

저희 학교 학생들이 미국 휴스턴에서 열린 코페르니쿠스 올림피아드 세계 결선에서 거둔 성과를 자랑스럽게 공유합니다. 8학년 클레어 L.과 9학년 제이슨 Z.는 자연과학 분야에서 세계 최고의 인재들과 경쟁하기 위해 국제 무대에 섰습니다. 예선에서 선발된 이 두 학생은 세계 결선 진출권을 획득했습니다.

클레어는 금메달을 , 제이슨은 은메달을 획득하며 그들의 헌신, 호기심, 그리고 노력을 입증했습니다. 이들의 성공은 그들의 재능과 ISD의 든든하고 영감을 주는 학습 환경을 보여주는 증거입니다.

그만큼 코페르니쿠스 올림피아드 는 젊은 과학자들이 수학, 물리, 화학, 생물, 천문학 분야의 지식을 적용하는 능력을 시험하는 국제 대회입니다. 자연과학 부문 의 결선에서는 일반적으로 난이도가 높은 ‑고난도 문제를 풀어야 합니다 . 이는 대회의 초기 단계에서 학습한 심층적인 개념 이해와 과학적 원리의 적용 능력을 평가하는 문제입니다.

클레어와 제이슨에게 휴스턴 여행은 단순히 최종 점수 이상의 의미를 지녔습니다. 이 대회는 다양한 문화적 배경을 가진 또래 친구들과 소통할 수 있는 다리가 되어주었습니다. 교류를 통해 새로운 아이디어를 얻고 협력 학습을 통해 성장할 수 있었습니다. 이론을 토론하거나 문화적 이야기를 나누면서, 서로 다른 배경에도 불구하고 탐구하고자 하는 열정은 똑같다는 것을 깨달았습니다.
